An honest update

NapStash is changing.
Here's the straight story.

The earlier versions of NapStash told you that you could turn an idle laptop into passive income, almost automatically. I believed that when I built it. But when I did the hard work of checking the real economics, the picture didn't hold up the way the early versions were built — and I'm not going to keep a page up that promises something I can't honestly stand behind.

The honest reason is simple. Whether any of this is worth it comes down almost entirely to three things: your specific machine, your energy costs, and the real limits of the systems that would actually pay you. For a lot of setups, the electricity and wear cost as much as — or more than — anything you'd earn. A single promise that works for everyone turns out to be something I couldn't make truthfully. So I took it down.

I'd rather lose the entire project than keep your trust on terms I can't substantiate 100%.

This entire category — blockchain mining, idle-resource earning, "make money with crypto/compute" — is drowning in hype, affiliate spam, fake screenshots, and inflated numbers. It's one of the least trustworthy corners of the internet, and I'll have no part in it.

So I'm completely rebuilding NapStash into one thing, and one thing only: an honest calculator.

Tell it about your hardware and what you pay for power, and it'll tell you the truth — whether sharing bandwidth, storage, or compute would actually be worth it on your setup, and when the honest answer is "not really." If it is worth it, I'll help you try it for real, safely, with the most accurate assessment I can give. No inflated numbers. No guarantees. No nonsense.

Everyone out there is promising you'll get rich doing nothing. I'd rather be the one voice that tells you the truth — even when the truth is "don't bother."

I'm rebuilding in the open. If you want to actually understand this stuff and find out, honestly, what your machine can and can't do — stick around.
